Backing up text messages

Just use PIM backup and make it easy on yourself

lame. I hate the backup utilities, I backup my contacts by copying pim.vol over. If anyone knows the answer to this, I'd love to hear it.
Would be awesome to be able to keep my threaded text convos from flash to flash (and hard reset too)

I too was looking for something to backup all my info so I could be a ROM flashing fool... I recently gave DashWire a try...
It backs up all your data - pics, vids, contacts, cal, txt msgs, etc...

Why is it lame? Explain yourself.

It does EXACTLY what you need and nothing more. PIM Backup can backup your contacts, threaded text messages, emails, calendar and tasks and more importantly any combination of those. It doesn't do a full backup like Sprite so it doesn't touch registry entries or anything.

Thanks for the suggestion. It seems really great, plus I can even sms from the comp then it syncs it back to my phone to actually send the SMS.

yeah that functionality is *almost* useful... The only problem I find is that unless you have it auto sync'ing w/ DashWire the message will only get sent the next time you manually sync... Still interesting to be sure...

i like PIM. been using it for a few months, it has everything i need. it's set to automatically run at 5am and copies the backup to storage card. also very easy to restore all your messages, contacts, etc in a few seconds.

best of all. it's free and a really compact app.
