Is this a good speed ??

Hello Everyone,
I just tested my speed at www.sppedtest.net . I am using the stock setting with EVDO connetion.



Please let me know if this is a good speed.

Well, "good" can be a pretty subjective term to begin with, but in this case the answer really depends on wether you are running a Rev A ROM/Radio or not. Judging by your upload speeds from those three tests I would say you are not, but I can't know for sure. That third test (with 1676 down) would be pushing the limits of EVDO Rev 0. So if you are not on a Rev A radio, then those speeds are excellent. If you are running a Rev A radio, then you're download speed is still good, but your upload is suffering for some reason. With Rev A you should be seeing anywhere from 200-600 kbps upload. Peak downloads on Rev A should also reach the mid 2mbps range, although you likely will not see that very often. Hope that helps

I was wondering how do you test the speed of your mobile phone at speedtest.net. because it doesnt work on pie.

^^Most people connect their's to their computer using Internet Sharing and do the test on the computer I think

Thank you for your reply. You are right. I am running the test on Rev. 0 (Stock ROM that came loaded from Sprint). I have to make the time and load the latest ROM and test Rev A. I am in EVDO Area and that is why I am getting those results.

ajones, You are correct and that is how I tested my speed. Maybe there is another way but this is the only way that I know of.

they have a mobile speed test on dslreports.com try that first it will ask u how big of a file to test it with pick 100k and most likely it will say file is too small. so pick a bigger one and pick 1mb. when i tested my speed with it on stock sprint rom i was getting about 400k now with flashed rom i'm getting 700k+ its better but im pretty sure rev a is faster than that right? hoped that helped.

I tried this test, and I got the message "your browser does not fully support java". My Touch is stock, what gives?
