Possible GPS problem...

I've been doing some testing with the new GPS and Rev A ROM's and have noted some problems... I'm not sure if it is my combination of radio and custom rom but I would like some of you to try these tests and see what you come up with.

Setup:
1. HTC Touch Bell Mobility
2. Titan Radio Rom 335
3. Ghettofreeryders 700 rom

GPS Programs
1. Garmin Mobile XT
2. GPSViewer

Problem 1.
When I start Garmin Mobile XT and get a satellite lock and start navigating, there are a few occasions when my friends cannot reach me. They keep saying that they tried to call me but it went to voicemail. Indeed, there were voicemail messages, but my phone never got an indicator. I then tried to phone myself via landline multiple times and confirmed that my phone wasn't receiving any calls. I then made a call from the Touch and was successful. After I hung up, I tried to call myself again via landline, this time it worked.

I've been randomly doing these tests and sometimes it works and other times it doesn't.

Problem 2.
When navigating via Garmin, I tried to make a call by pressing the send button. This put Garmin in the background and the phone app to the foreground. It appeared to dial the number, but then right after it connected, it suddenly disconnected. Then all voice prompts from Garmin ended up going through the earpiece instead of the external speaker. I tried again, this time I connected but during the call, we could hear the navigation prompts over the conversation.

I'm not sure if these problems are just my combination of radio+rom, but if you guys could try these tests and report back if you are having these problems? If not, let me know what radio and rom you're using.

Thanks.

Try putting Gps in GPSMode=4

I read on one site that GPSMode=2 somehow will prevent Voice calls. But Mode 4 will not. Darn if I can't find that site.
Supposedly it gets less info through for Gps assist. But I find it works better any way.

Also make sure you have newest Gps dll's the whole phone runs better with them.

FYI, I just tried both modes with GPS active and making a call and it worked fine. I'll test receiving too when I get a chance, because I'm curious and is an important question.

But I still suggest GPSMode=4.

Which Provider you on. Radio change is risky enough for anyone but I wouldn't run 3.25 radio unless I was on Sprint. (Set your Profile)

If you are on Sprint be sure to run Sprint Customizations CAB

I have seen flaky Voice calls over the past few days, I was blaming Radios. But now I suspect it was the OLD GPS DLL's or not running Sprint Customizations.CAB. Voice calls seem to be behaving now. I did get a dropped call with 2 bars but I think it was the other party.

Re: Possible GPS problem...

I just checked the registry setting for GPSMode and it is already 4.

I will try reflashing the radio rom back to the alltell default and do some more testing there.

If you are on Bell, I would use the full Altel ROM (Radio and OS). No sense using another Radio that's not Bell.

And I think you need to run KickStart (I don't think the whole "1-2-3 Unlock" works on Bell)

Sprint users are a little lucky because their is a Sprint Radio from Titan, Sprint Unlock Security scripts and Sprint Customization.Cab which make it behave.
