I keep hearing that 3.35 radio is not safe...
Can some please tell me whether or not it is safe to use the 3.35 radio. I keep hearing people saying that it may eventually brick your phone. I have had no problems with the 3.35 radio. What is the deal......

It's not safe to use the TITAN 3.35 radio on your vogue. Using a vogue radio on your vogue is ok. Sounds like common sense, doesn't it?

What is a good radio for the touch?

Re: I keep hearing that 3.35 radio is not safe...
myself and many others have installed the titan radio by following JD and Mindfrosts explicit instruction. Flash at your own risk but follow the directions and you should be fine. Do some reading first before you try this, its worth it to know what you are getting yourself into for sure. Good luck!
edit: sorry I misread, I thought you were thinking about flashing, but I guess you already have it on there eh. well i guess time will tell...good luck! |

titan radio is fine as long as you follow the procedure to the T on how to install it on your vogue. |

Flashing your phone period with anything other than official releases is a "Bad Idea" however thats not why we are here.

Re: I keep hearing that 3.35 radio is not safe...
Maybe, but we're talking risk. Flashing a radio is far more risky than flashing an OS, and flashing a radio from another device if far more risky than flashing a radio made for your device. OS roms are very well understood, and fairly safe (flash failure aside). Radios are less well understood, and not so safe (flash failure aside).

Re: I keep hearing that 3.35 radio is not safe...
It may be safer running a Sprint Radio ROM on a Sprint Vogue phone than a non Sprint Vogue Radio ROM on a Sprint Vogue phone.
Nothing is a perfect match (except the update from Sprint and others that we have been waiting for) and nothing is risk free. That said, I have switched back to the Alltel OS and Radio ROM. Not because it was less risky just because I want to compare it for stability. Had a couple small issues with the 3.35 Radio I want to see if it exists with the 3.37 Radio. |
Re: I keep hearing that 3.35 radio is not safe...
I have been using the 3.35 radio now for a couple of days and have noticed ZERO negative effects. I have had a stronger signal, GPS locks in seconds, Rev A speeds are constant even in bad reception areas...
I understand that it may not necessarily be a good idea to use this radio but I am willing to accept the risk if those benefits I named above are the result. |
