You sure you don't mean stuck in bootloader after Alltel flash (from the Complete TUTORIAL sticky)? I actually helped people come up with that solution so i would have definitely tried it myeslf.

Download mode is very specific it means a black screen and is as of yet unrecoverable. i don't see any posts on ppcgeeks that solve that issue. If i am wrong please point me in the right direction though! I have been talking to someone that is working on a download mode unbricker for the tilt and if it works out i'll work with him to port it to titan/touch.

gguruusa,
Thanks for helping clarify the dangers i'm trying to convey.

Sorry I misread what that recovery was from.

By the way, before that huge warning was recently put up in the Sticky Complete Tutorial I had directly flashed from 0.40 to 2.31 Unlocker several times with no problem.

There are still parts of the radio which i believe do not get overwritten.

Based on this, if I've updated my Radio to the Alltell 3.37 and plan on updating to the official Sprint Rev A / GPS Radio (whenever it's released), I may still have lingering parts of the Alltell radio?

I did not write that tutorial and i see no issue with going from 0.40 to 2.31 in and of itself.

Yes, that is correct unless the way this 2.xx bootloader handles the GPS (785 nbh header) radio is different from the titan one. As long as everything remains at the 3.xx GPS capable level it "should" be OK, but again i wouldn't re-flash a radio without a definitive NEED.

If it doesn't break don't fix it... :) But on the other hand it's always fun to experiment... (Make sure you have insurance if you are that sort) and know what you are doing also help...

So far I had flashed back and forth between the 3.5 and 3.7 radio a few times without problem using the 2.31 unlocker. But for the most part I am happiest with the 3.5 radio and AllTel rom. Reason being is that I wanted to try out jd ROM after hearing all the hype about it. So I flashed jd lite ROM and ughh... jd was serious that it was lite! But I must admit that guy know what he is doing... His rom is extremely lean and mean.

But it didn't exactly suit my need so I thought well before flash back to the Alltel rom I tried out OMJ rom and urghhh it's extremely bloated :)

So I am back on Alltel Rom...

..hey, look, I'm just saying someone should check out the readings on their personal geiger counter after making some of these Frankenstein abominations.
