Confusion on setting up both Builtin and BT GPS

alright now that we have the builtin gps enabled im completely getting frustrated on setting up both builtin and my BT gps unit.
If im ever in a situation where i need to know my location and my BT gps isnt around then i wanna be able to use the builtin.

But if im on a roadtrip and i want pinpoint accuracy then i wanna be able to use my BT gps.
Now.. between the bluetooth settings, the external gps settings, and my preferred gps apps settings.. com ports, etc.. im confusing myself quite easily.
Does anyone have a solution for me??

EDIT: at the same time i dont want both being on at the same time if im using my BT gps..

Re: Confusion on setting up both Builtin and BT GPS

he basically wants to create "profiles" for the gps settings, so he can switch between his bluetooth GPS puck and the internal chip.

though I have no idea how to do that lol.

My thoughts exactly. On google maps, I have it configured to use COM4, which is the built-in GPS. I can configure my bluetooth GPS as COM5, and tell TomTom to use COM5 and bypass the WM "external gps" settings altogether. Even before the built-in gps was turned on, I always byp***** the WM GPS sharing settings and just directed TomTom directly to the GPS hardware setting. Never had a problem. In a pinch, you can always reconfigure TomTom/whatever to use the bluetooth GPS COM port.

Edit: What, you can't say byp-a-s-s-e-d on this forum?

True. I was using external gps before the alltel rom and I have the option to switch
com ports between them.

Re: Confusion on setting up both Builtin and BT GPS

This isn't working for me. For some reason, I cannot use any other com port but COM4 for my external GPS. The rest of the ports apparently cannot be opened.
