noob help

I know there's a post about this, but it's also 84 posts long and several scattered comments. I still can't get my GPS to work, either the built in or the external puck. Does someone have a nice easy to read post on what to do? I've loaded basically all the cabs i've found and still no dice (the GPS Enable for Titan and the kickstart) I'd be happy if I could just get my external puck to work but the app External GPS won't read any external hardward port (keeps resetting to none). Any help? BTW, I'm on the Alltel phone with a fresh copy of the upgrade on it
