How do I get back "Sprint" Signal Strength Meter? (more bars)

I recall seeing a post here or on PDAPhoneHome.

I'm running the AllTel WM 6.0 GPS/Rev-A ROM and the Signal Strength Meter is now 4 thick bars instead of 6 thin bars I had with the stock Sprint ROM.

I believe there is a registry setting for this.

Anyone know how to change it?

Thanks

Re: How do I get back "Sprint" Signal Strength Meter? (more bars)

Haha, that's funny. Just last week I posted asking about getting the thicker bars, as found on the Alltel ROM. I like them better than the thin Sprint ones. Anyway, I was told it is built in the OS at the ROM level, and the only way to change it is in the original build.

I found a CAB once that had the narrow signal strength bars along with the solid battery indicator over on XDA, and now, for the life of me, I can't seem to find that thread again.

BTW......lot's of help there, guys...... *rolls eyes*

Re: How do I get back "Sprint" Signal Strength Meter? (more bars)

I don't know if it's I'm getting used to the thick bars or they are thin or thick at this point I'm so blurry eyed from all the different ROM's and what not.

But I think the thin ones gave you one more bar of resolution.

And I think what happening since it's a coarser meter when I have low signal I have no bars where before I had one small one. I knew historically if I had one bar I was ok to make a call (one bar to the right of the antenna Icon). Now I often have no bars in those weak areas but calls seem to be fine.

So I think I still have less bars of resolution than I used to. That is, less accurate signal meter and would still like to find the orginal meter.

;For Sprint Bars use
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\PhoneExtendFunction \CDMA\
SignalStrengthLevel=dword:00000007

;For Alltel Bars Delete the above key
