Searching... on XV6900 with Alltell ROM

Hey guys, I updated to the latest Alltell rom with the GPS and I'm having a bit of a problem locating the Verizon network. I understand some others have had this problem, but I've found no mention of any kind of work around or solution. It'll stay at Searching... for about 15 minutes before it locks onto Verizon. I mean, it works.. but damn that sucks. I followed instructions precisely and have reworked it twice.

Any ideas?

Edit: My phone service works off and on.. more often doesn't work though.

when u go to make a call does it say phone not recognized? if so u have to call customer service and they will fix it for u..dont tell them u upgraded to a new rom as ithere is no new rom..lol...tell them u did a hard reset on ur phone..they will fix it no problem.

I've called them twice, they can't fix it. They want to mail me a new phone..
