Verizon VX6900 - Altell ROM

Well I took the dive and went ahead and flashed the altell ROM on my vzw touch. It went smoothly.

After the flash, had to call verizon CS like the rest of you and re-authenticate the phone.

Afterwards went outside and flipped on google maps. About ten minutes later - bam - GPS found my location. TOO cool!!! Drove home with GPS on and had no problems.

The only thing not working is MMS... it had all of the altell MMS server settings programmed in. I tried replacing those with some verizon server settings I found on google but no luck. Then I tried installing this and it screwed things up further (now I can't even find mms settings).

How did you guys sort out the MMS issue?

i never really used the mms.. so im goin without it at this moment.. but verizon uses arcsoft.. which i heard will fix the problem but i havent really got around to using it.

fyi im using jd's ultra lite now with the 3.35 titan radio, gps works but i might not be in a rev a area cause my dl speeds are still like 700.. ill try arcsoft today... i was googling all about it yesterday but no luck yet

I did some more reading... I'm not 100% certain, but it looks like you might have to cook the arcsoft cab into the ROM before you burn it. Ugh. I had assumed that you could just install the cab after burning the ROM...

found it.. haha i haven't got to test it yet but my mms option in messaging is back
