VZW 6900 battery / programs running

I've had the phone for a week now and love it. My battery is running down very quickly, I started the day 100% and at 5:00 I am at 20%. I am thinking that I must have something running in the back ground but I am unsure as to what. When I check the running programs list there is nothing that is unusual that I can see to be a battery hog.

Re: VZW 6900 battery / programs running

well, in my opinion, your battery life experience is typical for the Touch. smaller phone, smaller battery and a feature rich device adds up to less battery life. how many calls do you make during the day? factors such as signal strength could be affecting your battery life, too. it's been my experience with the GSM Touch, Sprint Touch and Verizon Touch that their respective batteries will not last a full (24 hour) day with moderate usage. (I'm assuming that the phone is on for a full 24 hours). This is why I moved to a larger battery. I have a Seidio 2000 mah battery - that increases thickness by 3.5 mm - and i've been able to go 1.5-2 days with the Sprint Touch and Verizon Touch before i need to recharge. it's the function over form tradeoff; 3.5 mm additional thickness for extended battery life...

Seidio battery... keep in mind that they don't (yet) have a extended cover to match the Verizon Touch.

Re: VZW 6900 battery / programs running

It is the OEM battery and I think I will have to get an additional battery or try the extended battery. With past phones I have always had an extra battery and had it charged and ready to go. The phone might last longer after a few weeks when I quit playing with it and trying new options..

Thanks for the replies

turn your beams off. there are a good deal of battery saving techniques to search for as well.

Why is the feature there to accept all beams when there is no IR on the device?

i believe it also applies to bluetooth when you're receiving incoming items (via bluetooth)
