Tethering the XV6900 with VZW?

What is the trick to get it work? This used to work fine with my XV6700 without any hacks. I found a service phone code to make it work with the SMT5800 but will that work with the Touch? It appears now Modem link appears to be blocked with VZaccess manager? I tried downloading the Internet Sharing cab and it seems to work partially. Am i missing a .dll replacement trick or something?

Which Internet Sharing cab did you use?

Uninstall the current one and try the one in the link below.
It works on my XV6900 perfectly, without any additional hacking.

Same cab I used. Thanks. Do you have to hit a web site first on the phone? I was reading sometimes this is necessary? It may be I was switching between wireless and tethering and something didn't sync in the translation. It seems to be working consistently now.

could someone post instructions? I'm trying to use it to use speedtest.net and instead I'm getting results for my cable ISP.

Do I need data service to use this with my Verizon XV6900? I do not have data service and do not want it. But being able to connect to my home network would be knid of cool - occasoinally.

if you sync it with active sync you can share the computers internet. but you will be limited by the length of the cable unless you sync with bluetooth.

You can use the new version of WMWifirouter for a variety of connections (wifi to wifi, 3g to wifi, tethered to tethered, tethered to wifi, etc) to get you connected. It is a paid version, but the one month trial will convince you it is worth buying.
