Question Video from memory card transfer rate

I'm guessing that what I see is due to the default transfer rate from my memory card. When I try to play any type of video (with any type of player), the video lags and skips bad. The screen will refresh about once every five seconds. Playback works fine from main memory. Is there a reg hack that anyone knows of that fixes this?

Re: Video from memory card transfer rate

Here's a blurb about same issue in another thread.
"Is the 4gb microSDHC? I know mciroSDHC have a different transfer rate than normal microSD cards, so the bridge between the card reader and the processor might be causing the lagup in the playback."

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=22908

The thread also has had you can do to fix it.

The only results that I can find are either compatibility questions (size) or the post above. I can't get a hold of any solutions.
