Cannnot connect to active synch after JD 6.1

Ok need some help her upgraded to JD 6.1 seems to work great by the way but I just got my Vogue so I want to check out some other apps. So here is my problem I cannot get my Vouge to connect with active synch. I did notice that when I first connected I had the same problem but I fixed it by clicking on the Start/Settigs/Connections/Usb to Pc and unchecking the enable advanced network functionality. That seemed to let me connect to active synch. Now with the JD 61 I do not see that same program or tab. Is there a way to enable the bootloader without being connected to active synch and flashing to a different rom? Or is the program still in there just in a different spot? Thanks in advance Alex
