re-assign longPressEndKey?

I'd much prefer to use the comm-manager to the quicklist, but can't figure it out.
I've tried each of the following:
create long_send.lnk and linking it to the comm manager (dont care if its send or end)
create long_end.lnk and linking it to the comm manager
use AEButton Plus to change the long press of send and end to comm manager
overwrite LongPressEndKey.lnk in the windows directory with a lnk to comm manager.

all of this to no avail, including soft resets along the way to test them. unsuccessful so far. anyone else have figure this out?

Set the control panel settings to run the quick list. Next replace EndKey.exe with a program capable of being run from the windows directory, there is not even a need to reboot the long press of the endkey will run EndKey.exe...
