XT9 picks wrong words on HTC Touch by Sprint

So, I've decided I love XT9 and have become fairly quick on it, but my dictionary is slightly screwed up (not the words I added, the built-in dictionary). The following items are ones I remember (there are a few others):

Some words are mispelled such as:

• Typing 'at' ('as' + 'ty') -> 'st' by default
• Typing 'be' ('bn' + 'er') -> 'ne' by default

Some words are capitalized by default, such as:

• Typing 'call' ('cv' + 'as' + 'l' + 'l') -> 'Call' by default (with caps, no matter where in sentence)

I tried this on a friends Touch (also by Sprint) and this functionality is not present! I cleared the custom dictionary entries and this still happens. It's so frustrating!

Any ideas?

reflash your phone. You probably entered Call a few times, so now its guessing thats the word you want. Same with your other 2 examples

actually this happend to me as well

the way i fixed it, was adding the word manually in lower case and then PRESSING the word in the little black bar.

speaking of auto completion.. I don't like using it, well, sometimes, i had it turned off, and somehow in the last few hours it got turned back on, and now I can't seem to find where it is that I turned it off..

I actually like the predictive text, but the inability to add words easily is kind of a bummer.
