plz help with Backlight issue

After installing some of the SPG suite of software (later removed) I have a Backlight problem I hope someone can .... erm "shed some light" on. *cough*

Condition was detected when mobile shell was installed - so I removed it but the problem remains.

The "Adjust Backlight" button on the HTC launcher does not change the backlight intensity anymore (and Im stuck at a low level)

I notice that when I click the "Adjust" button, and then go to the backlight settings under start>settings>system, that the number of clicks I press changes the slider for Battery "power save" . If I slide it all the way to bright there is still no change in intensity.

One final point: When I plug into the charger, it does indeed go to the bright setting.

Please help rescue my Vogue from certain destruction due to user frustration.

Re: plz help with Backlight issue

I found a solution and perhaps a caution for others.

I reinstalled SPB Mobile Shell and switched the backlight setting to high with the SPB software rather than the default backlight adjust. It changed - changes were saved. From a few little things I looked at I suspect the SPB engine rewrites some Registry entries differently than the default utilities. Beware of settings you canot change and change them with SPB Shell exclusively (before you uninstall it)
