The soon to be released 6.1

Does the 6.1 roms that is used in these forums have all the same features as the soon to be released 6.1 that was just announced?
As a example ..

http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/p...-01WM61PR.mspx
"Updated Internet Explorer Mobile Brings the Quality of Desktop Web Browsing to Phones

The new version of Internet Explorer Mobile adds the ability to easily view full-screen Web pages and multimedia on the Web with a smartphone. By taking advantage of Internet Explorer 6 technologies and supporting established and upcoming industry standards such as H.264, Adobe Flash and Microsoft Silverlight, the updated Internet Explorer Mobile gives people a rich mobile Internet experience. The update will be available to mobile phone partners in the third quarter of 2008, with the first Windows Mobile phones using the new version expected to be available by the end of 2008."

Re: The soon to be released 6.1

I hope is better than what we have at the moment. It would be a shame if Microsoft couldnt top what the PPCGeeks have been able to put out there for us.

Re: The soon to be released 6.1

umm... i dunno but the PIE we have now does not have Adobe Flash, atleast fully in a "desktop experience". Not sure what Silverlight is though. I don't really notice a difference in the PIE included on our versions of 6.1

Re: The soon to be released 6.1

The current version of Pocket IE in the 6.1 ROMs has a zooming feature that lets you view the whole page, then zoom in to the section you want. That is basically the only difference though.

This is the first I've heard about flash support in the official 6.1 release. Microsoft did recently license Flash Lite 3.0 from Adobe, but I wasn't expecting to see that incorporated into WM for some time. Looks like good news! The release is not until at least Q3 though. It was previously rumored to be out earlier.

Silverlight is basically Microsoft's competing format for Adobe flash. It is currently not widely used.
