Also, some "generic" ROMS, (non-sprint,) have the character limit set too low... I am using ghettofreeryder's 6.13 and it has a limit of 140... I'd look for a fix, but I have unlimited messaging...

when the phone shows it as split, does it actually split it, or does the network split it?

Which roms would you recommend for providing this function? I'm on OMJ 7 right now and it doesn't have it (or a calculator for that matter). I seem to recall trying a rom recently that put a running count in the title/start bar? I could have been imagining things but if I wasn't, how do I make that happen again? And or what rom(s) do that? It really bothers me that I can't tell where my sms's are getting split. Especially since the new outlook is the only reason I'm using 6.1 in the first place. Thanks |

the netwrok splits the message. I am on Telus, and had my split set to 200, but Telus splits at 140, so it doesnt matter where you rom split is

Does it really matter? Why do you type so much in a text? Just send an email or call them, or even meet them somewhere

To revisit this, the carrier controls the split, but ur phone will also split, so the 2 numbers must be in sync. For Sprint, 160, for Telus, 140. I cant remember why the difference, but I think 140 is the world wide standard. Twitter also splits at 140 or 160, i cant remember which one, but whatever they do is the standard
