sms char. count in 6.1 Hey, I have seen a couple people talking about the lack of character count in 6.1, thought I would add some input, I found that it is there if you are writing a new message, but is not there if you are continuing a conversation. again, sorry to start a new thread, but I saw this in a couple different threads, and thought I would add it to the main area |

Re: sms char. count in 6.1 Also, some "generic" ROMS, (non-sprint,) have the character limit set too low... I am using ghettofreeryder's 6.13 and it has a limit of 140... I'd look for a fix, but I have unlimited messaging... |

Re: sms char. count in 6.1 when the phone shows it as split, does it actually split it, or does the network split it? |

Re: sms char. count in 6.1 Which roms would you recommend for providing this function? I'm on OMJ 7 right now and it doesn't have it (or a calculator for that matter). I seem to recall trying a rom recently that put a running count in the title/start bar? I could have been imagining things but if I wasn't, how do I make that happen again? And or what rom(s) do that? It really bothers me that I can't tell where my sms's are getting split. Especially since the new outlook is the only reason I'm using 6.1 in the first place. Thanks |

Re: sms char. count in 6.1 the netwrok splits the message. I am on Telus, and had my split set to 200, but Telus splits at 140, so it doesnt matter where you rom split is |

Re: sms char. count in 6.1 ah yes, derek's rom (at least) shows the character count with a 160 split in the start bar, very relieving |

I wish I could find where to fix this :( |

Re: sms char. count in 6.1 Does it really matter? Why do you type so much in a text? Just send an email or call them, or even meet them somewhere |

Re: sms char. count in 6.1 To revisit this, the carrier controls the split, but ur phone will also split, so the 2 numbers must be in sync. For Sprint, 160, for Telus, 140. I cant remember why the difference, but I think 140 is the world wide standard. Twitter also splits at 140 or 160, i cant remember which one, but whatever they do is the standard |
