Keeping Keypad on during call

I have the Narg keypad installed on my touch. With almost every business having some kind of voice maze when you call them it would be really great if I could keep the keypad on during a call, rather than it switching to the other screen. Does anyone know of a way to set the phone up to stay on the keypad the entire duration of the call?

Re: Keeping Keypad on during call

For me, It's convenient to just switch it to keypad when required (like when using a business IVR). I'm sure you don't need a keypad visible for most of the calls you make.. .

Re: Keeping Keypad on during call

I need it a lot more often than the ability to go to speakerphone, mute or any of the other options on the second screen.
And seeing as how I call a lot of big companies with menu systems, its quite a bit.

One way is...Go into Settings ->Power -> Advanced Tab and uncheck On battery power, turn off device if not used for

You would have have ninja like discipline to turn your phone off after using it though, or it would drain your battery quickly.

I don't think OP is talking about leaving the screen on, he is talking about having the dialpad as the default screen it goes to when you are on a call as oppose to the in-progress screen where you can select speakerphone, mute, etc.

The only time it goes to the keypad instead of the in-progress screen is during a voicemail call, so if you can trick the phone into thinking you are making a voicemail call, it might do the trick.

Re: Keeping Keypad on during call

I too would rather have the keypad stay on as many times you need it to complete business calls.

Re: Keeping Keypad on during call

I asked an HTC engineer this at CES - he says that made a lot of sense but didn't know of a way to do it.

Re: Keeping Keypad on during call
