HOWTO: Porting Radio from Titan to Vogue

Sup folks,

So I take the knowledge that all the gurus here on this board had given me and package together a HOWTO on porting Radio from Titan to Vogue.

If I missed any steps please post here.

See the doc attached.

Have fun flashing, but also sometimes you must learn how to say NO so that you won't brick your phone.

Re: HOWTO: Porting Radio from Titan to Vogue

Keep in mind that is has now been confirmed that the titan updates ship with 2 different nbh files that BOTH contain a radio. The radio update that is the one used by the Titan WILL NOT WORK WITH THE VOGUE, and no information is available about the other radio included, other than the fact that it does seem to work with the Vogue, but does not show a version number, and contains significantly different code than any of the other radios.

so wait a minute....i'm wondering if we can play devil's advocate.

Some have said that the radio does not enable GPS and\or Rev A, however, now that we know that there are two radios, do we really know the answer now?

I wonder if a brave mogul user will flash one of the second radios in the titan update (the one that is confirmed to work on the Touch) and see if they still have GPS and Rev A.

Re: HOWTO: Porting Radio from Titan to Vogue

DO NOT DO THIS! The Special_4350.nbh file is DANGEROUS!!! I have a mogul that is currently unusable because of this. I have also seen another user with a similar problem, but have not heard the story yet as to how they got here.

Additionally there have been reports of this causing problems with the vogue as well.

Re: HOWTO: Porting Radio from Titan to Vogue

AHH, thank you for the update Cokeman. This whole port from Titan to Vogue thing seems to be one dead end (literally in some cases) after another. Looks like we are back to waiting for the VZ Vogue to come out

Hey Mr. vboyz103
Can you please post a screenshot or a photo of any working GPS Program on Touch? VisualGPS would be enough.
P.S. please don't use Photoshop . If you have a working solution - just let thousands of people see that you're a genius.

You need to read the post - very first thing he said was the gps does NOT work with the port.

Then what's the real value of porting the radio if it will not enable the GPS port?
Anyway I wish good luck to all the Vogue GPS enthusiasts. Hope someone will succeed. If not hope Sprint will not leave us waiting for ages for the ROM update.

The original thought was that if we could get the Titan radio to work, we could enable GPS with the drivers/registry from the Titan.

It was soon identified that the Titan update shipped with two different radios. The one that actually worked on the Titan, but that would not work on the Vogue, and a second "mystery" one. This "mystery" radio would flash to the Vogue, and in fact, looked like it worked giving several people hope. However, as we now know, was/is a dead end and, at least in my opinion, may have been a deliberate htc/sprint trap for those "experimenting" with the devices.

It wont be long now. Not only has a 6.1 update been announced that will undoubtedly include GPS/RevA, but Verizon is releasing their version in the next few days which should contain the "missing link".
