Re: Playing music on your touch in your car

Or, you can get a stereo headphone converter and use any one of the 3.5mm headphone jack options. I tried the 2.5mm to 3.5mm converter because it was readily available, but I only got mono output, so either my converter was defective (I didn't have anything else to test it on) or our 2.5mm jack isn't stereo.

Re: Playing music on your touch in your car

there are two fairly cheap options if your car has a 3.5jack that plugs into your stereo..

a spinoff of lisat96: if you dont mind extra wires, you can head over to a cingular store and pick up a 2.5-3.5 converter for like 5 bucks. this will work with the usb splitter your touch comes with
OR..
pick up a bluetooth mic like the jabra 3030 and plug it directly into the 3.5mm jack. i got mine for 43 bucks at buy.com its a pretty nice unit. the bt reception is great. i did the regedit for my bt stack so my touch streams 192kbs and the 3030 still works a great distance without cutting out. my only complaint on the unit is the low volume when pairing with anything else that is not in-ear. hopefully there will be a hack to change this from my phone or mic..

Re: Playing music on your touch in your car

Though this may not work or even be the best method for most people, This is how I play music from the Vogue in my car.

I already owned the Moto S705 Bluetooth headphone thing. Well I simply connect it's standard 3.5mm stereo jack to the same cable I use for every other device.

Then pair the S705 and the Vogue and wondeful A2DP sound comes through.

Would it be just as easy to use the 3.5mm adapters? Of course. But this is the stuff I had on hand and it works great and has a "cool" factor.

Re: Playing music on your touch in your car

Easiest and best bet is to get the Motorola T505 Moro Rokr. It does A2DP bluetooth as well as handsfree. Requires no wiring to your car.

Parrot makes a similar device that has voice recognition support, but I have no clue how well it works vs. motorola.

Re: Playing music on your touch in your car

Lots of different ways getting listed here, many using an FM transmitter. I do that for rental cars, but have quite a different set-up for my own car. BTW the Belkin TuneCast II is now under $20 all over the place, Walmart for example:
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=2603620

I found a multi-media 4.1 surround system, with the typical power supply that you plug into your home 110-120 volt AC outlet for it's input, and (this is important) 12 volts DC for it's output. It was easy to simply replace that wall plugin unit for a cable with cigarette lighter plug at one end, and the same little terminal connector plug at the other end as what the original power supply had. So, my music goes directly out of Touch and into a multimedia sound system. The hardest part was finding places behind the dash and rear side pannels where I could mount the little satellite speakers. The bigger turbo subwoffer sort of cramps foot space for anybody sitting directly behind driver's seat. Oh well, the sound is more important, and it really is great!

I dont know if ford it the same as the new vw radios dose it have a factory ipod dock? if it dose then you can get an adapter that adapts the ipod dock to a bluetooth receiver. there is another thread that talks about this. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=19852

Re: Playing music on your touch in your car

Alright, this is how my setup is:
I got an EXTUSB 3.5 with usb cable adapter from SEDIO. They dont have that right now (or I'm looking at the wrong site). I have that plug connected into the EXTUSB/MiniUSB splitter so I have my phone charging at the same time. It works wonders.

*NOTE* I have not tried this on my vogue, but did on my Titan. I did have a 2.5 to 3.5 adapter and used the included MiniUSB/headset splitter but only got Mono audio where only one side of the cars speakers would play. No matter what, couldn't get it to play on the other speakers. I could have the 3.5 adapter partially out to have audio on both sides but it would either come out or activate voice recognition.

Re: Playing music on your touch in your car

just reporting in on the jabra 3030. this thing is incredible! the sound and range is great. i can play music in my car and with the bt audio tweak, i get garble-free music. i might play with the bitrate later, but i cant tell the difference with 192kbps to wired, considering the speakers on the car is stock

the jabra 3030 gets a thumbs up
