Phone keypad when I press '*' I get a 'p'

Here is a interesting problem, at least for me. To retrieve my answering machine messages at work I need to press **on the phone keypad. When I tap ** the phone generates a *p. Continued pressing of the * generates more ps, If I pause 1 second between tapping *, I get ** but unfortunately this is not fast enough for the answering machine. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I have Polen Vista Cube Set and thisguyincoc CubeConfig installed.

All other applications work fine. I have tried changing the default input methods, but that does not seem to have an effect.

Thanks;

Dave.

Re: Phone keypad when I press '*' I get a 'p'

Your are either holding down '*' for too long, or pressing it again too fast. 'p' is for Pause.

Re: Phone keypad when I press '*' I get a 'p'

I tried a variety of difference tapping speeds, but still the p shows up. It does not do this with any other key, ie ## gives me ##, etc.

Re: Phone keypad when I press '*' I get a 'p'

I thought this was a problem for me too. I have Bell Voicemail which requires you to press * to exit out. If you're a few levels deep into the voicemail service, you'll have to press * like 3 or 4 times to exit...unfortunately you have to press * slowly, like Pibe38 said.

Re: Phone keypad when I press '*' I get a 'p'

Can you set ** as a pre-set speed dial or asign it hot button? Have no idea how or if this could be done. Good luck

Re: Phone keypad when I press '*' I get a 'p'

Problem solved with the suggestions above. I just setup and autodial for work. Added a couple of p for pausing and ** and then entered my id information. Now I can access my voice mail with a single press.

Thanks for the help
