Possible to backup ROM?

Hey y'all...

The ROM upgrade bug has hit me...

I just finished flashing a rom a few days ago, (Bell OEM WM6.1 ROM), but now I saw ghettofreeryder's got a bell rom that he cooked and looks tasty...

That being said, I've got my current rom running nice, and stable... but would like to have the option of coming back to this one in it's current state if I don't like the grass on the other side...

Is that at all possible?

Re: Possible to backup ROM?

You can reflash the ROM

If you are asking if you can take a snapshot of the current configuration and dump it as a ROM, I am pretty sure the answer is no. You can extract the ROM portion, but not all the apps/settings that you have.

You could always install a backup software and take a backup. Then you could just reflash and then restore.

Re: Possible to backup ROM?

Which backup software will backup apps and settings? Unless I'm mistaken, the ones I've seen only backup personal data and folders....

Hey pure_energy1,

You might want to check out sprite or SPB backup... both are commercially products, but they are commonly used. I haven't used anything other than PIM 2.8 lately, so I'm not sure if there are newer/better products available

Re: Possible to backup ROM?

Use SPB Backup. when you donwload it says its a trial but i have been using it for a couple of months now without being charged or paying anything. And after you back up its a good idea to make a folder that you can put the RUU_signed.nbh file and the backup file in so you can have a quick backup copy of the whole setup
