Re: Touch; as a real MP3 player.

Just got home, grabbed me up a pair of S9 from TD. Got me a nice $10 discount [ex employee discount ] charging it up as we speak.. Hey how do we tell knock offs from the real thing? Mine came with a little hologram tab with letters and numbers, tethered to the left loop. I don't see that on the eBay ones.

Re: Touch; as a real MP3 player.

I bought S9s Last year I never use them because they hurt my ears! Anyone else experience this?

It has a microphone built into the right ear plug for making calls, voice recognition, like it mentions in that little black manual.

Looks like a really nice price, I saw Tigerdirect has them white box at $50 as well.

personally, i would stay away from certain gadgets on ebay. alot of them (specially with titles like that) are frauds. even though they might look similar, they are never as good as the original
spend the extra money and get the tigerdirect oem's

Re: Touch; as a real MP3 player.

Check out Pocket Player by Conduits Technologies. It looks better and has more options than HTC Audio Manager. However it's not free.. and HTC Audio Manager is. I haven't touched my iPod since using this app, it can do everything my iPod can and more.

I really like Pocket Player's interface and features but for now I've had to go with TCPMP because that's the only player that doesn't skip for me when the phone is on.

About the only fix besides turning phone and data off was using tcpmp but I think that just had very subtle skipping and the interface, well... :/

Once I get the skipping stopped I'll be gladly looking for a good stereo headset
Here's a whole thread about your skipping issues with some tweaking help.
In Post 61 you can find my app that'll let you tinker with all the values to improve the playback quality and minimize or eliminate skipping.
I use Mortplayer for all my music. It can also handle .ogg (Ogg Vorbis, I think)files which is another compression algorithm like mp3's but better. Not sure exactly but seem to remember that a ripped .ogg at 96kbs is probably equal to 128kbs or more in mp3 format, so smaller files and perhaps less info to stream to headset so less likely to skip?

Re: Touch; as a real MP3 player.

My phone has never skipped. I'm using HTC audio manager and I'm also using HTC Performance plug in and running my processor at 624Mhz.
