Flashing with Vista?

Anyone know the tips on getting the ROMUpdateUtility.exe to properly run under Vista. I'm using Vista Enterprise at work.

Keeps thinking the process is non-responsive and restarts the process

Thats interesting, can you enter bootloader from the phone itself? I would like to take out my sdcard and put it another touch and load my rom...

Re: Flashing with Vista?

I've been using Windows Vista Ultimate to flash my Sprint Touch and Sprint Apache for the last couple of months now and have had no problems at all. Always works just fine even if the device is in bootloader mode. Just run the RUU as administrator.

I'm gonna answer my own question, to get into bootloader from the phone: hold top button, camera button, then the reset button. That will put you into bootloader to flash from your sd card.

Re: Flashing with Vista?

I tried that to. Didn't work for me. Save yourself some time. Do it on a XP machine or run XP on a virtual machine.

Have you tried VM and had it work for you? Which VM software did you use?

The VM software that I tried didn't give the hosted XP OS driver level access to the USB port owned by Vista, so didn't work for me.
