general question about output

does anyone know of a plug or something that will allow me to plug my phone into say a tv and play a movie off my phone and show it on the TV? i haven't heard of such a thing, but i think it would be awesome if someone knows of one. thanx in advance if anyone is able to help me in any way ^_^

well the touch doesn have wifi so that wouldnt really work well for me either. i guess it might for all the mogul and apache people

ya you could for sure, check out a program called pocketlan. haven't tried with the evdo but I bet it would work

if the movie is on the sd card, pull it and use a USB reader on a local computer.
Or stream it from your home PC with Orb.

I think you missed the question. How will that allow it to play from the phone onto a tv? I don't believer there is an option for this.

the OP says "if anyone is able to help me in any way", and I was just showing how a little pre-planning eliminates the need for something (I thought) had a high Unobtanium content.

However, a quick google shows that there exists a thing called a "Spectec SDV-842 Video-To-Go microSD Card" that is exactly what he wants - Composite, S-video, and VGA out. And a IR remote for playback control(!).

Assuming it works as advertised.

Be sure to buy one and let the rest of us know how it works. The door on the touch certainly won't cooperate in this affair.

However, I'd wait for the next version that has its own microSD slot, to hold the movie that is on the microSD card you take out when you plug this thing in. Unless you are streaming video etc. but then you might not need the video out feature on the Touch because you would just play the stream on a local computer.
