Will 6.0 backup work on 6.1?

I'm considering upgrading to 6.1... and I'm going to use SPB backup to back everything up. Will the backup work on a 6.1 after the upgrade?

It is never recommended to restore a backup when upgrading to a new ROM, let alone a new version of the OS.

pimbackup will work though idk if use that or not..but i kno it worked for me

correct, pimbackup will work but that does not perform a complete system restore. it will only restore your contacts, calendar, tasks, call history ect. not the program settings and system settings... those will have to be re installed and set up manually...

That is correct, I apologize, I should have said that it is never recommended to restore a full backup... I guess I forgot since the user was asking about Spb Bakcup

i actually did this my first time upgrading, but i did notice some issues. annoying bugs... if your worried about losing your contacts i would recommend PIM Backup.

No, it would not. Unless you only create a backup with contacts and PIM info, and for that I would recommend PIMBackup.

The issue here is that if you restore a full backup (applications, etc.) some of the newer components of the upgraded ROM will be overwritten with older information backed up from the older ROM.

So, unless you are restoring ONLY PIM data (contacts, appointments, etc.) a backup restore is NOT recommended.
