Re: Yahoo Mail on HTC Touch

You guys do realize this is a really old thread, right? Before today, the last post was nearly 11 months ago. I doubt the previous members who posted are still following it for a solution.

Re: Yahoo Mail on HTC Touch

Yeah... I too am trying to figure out how to get Outlook to take my Yahoo account without paying for Mail Plus. I think it's BS that Yahoo makes you pay while others do not. No wonder why Yahoo is failing... If I didn't have this email program since I was 15 (Have had it for 13 years!), I would ditch Yahoo altogether.

Re: Yahoo Mail on HTC Touch

It will work if you set it up to use Yahoo's IMAP server instead of POP. When you set up the account, uncheck the box for find settings automatically. Use the following information when setting up the account:

Incoming Mail Server: imap.mail.yahoo.com
Account Type: IMAP4
Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com
Check the boxes for Outgoing server requires authentication and Use the same user name and password for sending e-mail

I will try that out now! So if I setup everything correctly I should have Yahoo! on my phone?

Re: Yahoo Mail on HTC Touch

****! Wish I would have tried this sooner! With 6.1 it set it up automatically for me and began downloading my folders messages! I tried before with either WM 6 or 5 and would not work... Anyway with 6.1 I now have Yahoo on my phone! Awesome!
