Changing Soft Key on Home Screen for SMS?

I just installed WM6.1 and I am going to use the stock SMS Program. I would like to have a SMS Softkey on the home screen so when I press it it opens up text messaging. I know how to edit the registry and I already have it saying SMS I just dont know the value to put in so it opens up Text messaging and not just messaging in general?

Also if there is a way to change the left soft key in text messaging from Delete to New that would make my day!!!

Ok I copied your instructions and it now goes to Messaging but not to text messaging

Ok download this SoftKeyAppletEx HERE.
#1 Download it and unzip it, its a RaR file.
#2 Copy the SoftKeyAppletEx from your PC to your PPC(phone) .
#3 Use file exsplorer to browse to your SD card and make sure that you have it (file exsplorer) set to {All Files visible}
#4 Copy the SoftKeyAppletEx from your SD card to the windows folder.(My Device - Windows)
#5 SOFT RESET your PPC.
#6 Go to "Start - Settings - System - Soft Key" and you can change the left and right softkeys.

Thanks LSME for the help I followed your instructions and placed SoftKeyAppletEx in the windows diretory, but its not showing up in settings. I even changed it from showing up under system to personal just to see if it made a differance but it still didnt show up. Do you think ts becasue I am usung 6.1?

No I use 6.1 on my touch. Did you unzip it? Sorry had to ask. You have to do it in the exact order and make sure after you put it in your Windows folder you soft reset. If you don't do a soft reset you will not see it. I use this on my 6700 with WM5/6, my 6800 running dcds 2.x.x, and The Touch with 6.1.....I haven't had it never work. Im going to double check to see if I uploaded the right file.
**Update** I download and unzipped it and it worked so I don't know why its not working for ya sorry.
