Does HTC Weather autoupdate in background?

I have had mogul with HTC home installed and now Touch with default HTC home.

On the HTC weather, I checked the option to have it autoupdate and start connection if needed.

However, it doesn't seem to update until I click on HTC weather icon.

Is this the way it is suppose to be? I have S2U2, could this be interfering? I turn "Don't Suspend Power On" on, and still no autoupdating in the background.

I dont seem to have any issues with this, it performs as advertised for me. I use the HTC weather feed for s2u2 and it auto updates for me once every 20-30 mins i think, but i could be wrong...

So you turn you ppc on after about 6 hours of no use (ie in the morning) and go to the HTC home plugin, then hit the weather icon, does it have the most recent temp and forecast right away or does it start a data connection or say it is downloading the info?

when working from the HTC home plugin, it starts a data connection and downloads info... when working from s2u2 it auto updates on it's own. sorry if that was confusing in my first post

but if it starts a data connection and downloading when you select the weather icon, it means it wasn't updated until you select the weather icon. How do you know it is updated in the background unless when you press the weather icon and it is already updated after about 6 hours of inactivity.
