While Playing MP3s in WMP...

Hello all!

I did a couple of searches, but was surprised to not find and answer.

When I am playing music in Windows Media Player, I was shocked to find that you cannot turn off the screen, on my unit anyways. If I press the on/off button, the screen will turn off, but it pauses the music. The screen does not auto off while music is playing either.

I find this troublesome on several levels. Is there anything I can do about it? I can control my music just fine from a remote, so I don't need/want the screen on while listening to music.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Go into WMPlayer. Got to Menu>Options

Click the litle arrows in the bottom right of the screen to go to the far right tab called Buttons.

Scroll down to the bottom of the list to the option "Toggle Screen"

Tap on "Toggle Screen", then tap the button below labeled "Assign" then press whatever button you would like to turn the screen off while in WMPlayer (any key except the power button).

Thanks Musicman!

And suddenly I wish I could program a finger swipe to do that, I only have five buttons to program with... So now I can't change the volume with the up/down...

But it works great for me now!

So you have to push a button? PocketMusic lets you map that function to a button, if desired, but goes one better by providing the option of making it automatic (while also giving you the choice of whether hardware buttons get locked or stay mapped according to your settings). Far superior! But that's just my opinion. You can decide for yourself by way of a free version here:
