Does anybody know where I can find the OEM for the HTC Wait Animation? I've tried creating it myself but gives me and error (user.hv, default.hv). Also, I found an OEM for for Resco explorer but it isnt the updated one. Has anybody been able to make a OEM for version 6.17?

Old_Man_Jenkins : I too have been trying to mess with the .hv files (following the same kitchen tutorial that you have) but whatever registry tweaks I make, they never make it to the new ROM for some reason. I've tried a couple times now to make small reg edits like changing the names/paths of some cube items, and also finger pressure, but they never seem to stick. Have you figured it out yet?

ftp://ppcgeeks:ezupload@up.ppcgeeks...._Animation.zip

BuildOS gave me an error, saying the StartupAnimationEngine.dll already existed, so I deleted it from that OEM folder, and it does work.

Yeah, I aborted that way of updating the registry, I kept getting an error when I was converting from txt back to hv. MrGeoff was kind enough to share his OEM that makes the registry changes. Here is my modified version, just add it to your OEM folder, open the .rgu file to update.

Thanks for the registry tweaks. But the wait animation I was referring to was the unofficial HTC wait icon (which replaces the beach ball thing). I've been trying to convert the cab but, no luck. I attached it here:

If you are trying to make changes to the cube and are going for a more Sprint like ROM, you might check to see if you have this file in your OEM\OperatorPKG folder ( mxipupdate_oemoperators_103.provxml ). It is my understanding the PROVXML files will overwrite registry changes made in RGU files, but not 100% sure.

You are correct. Provxml files are ran during first boot (or after a hard reset). Cuz of this, it will *always* overwrite any registry settings you have modified or created. Searching and editing those files were the biggest pain throughout my whole experience to check if it was overwriting a registry change I was trying to make.

hmm, that's why some of my changes didn't stick.....so I have to find the Provxml files that contain the registry keys I want to change, then modify them there?

I was trying to add the battery tweaks...

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\AsyncMac1\Parms]
"DisablePowerManagement"=dword:00000000

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\Irsir1\Parms]
"DisablePowerManagement"=dword:00000000

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\PPTP1\Parms]
"DisablePowerManagement"=dword:00000000

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\L2TP1\Parms]
"DisablePowerManagement"=dword:00000000

Probably so. I know I just made the edits to the xml files directly instead of removing and then adding to my personal package. It would be a different story if the OEM section was optional-ized so everything is separated.
