playback .mp4 video files smoothly?

I'm trying to playback mpeg4 movies (with aac audio) on the touch using TCPMP 0.72RC1 with ffmpeg and the BetaPlayer aac plugin. The videos were encoded 480x208 400Kbps, and 64 kbps audio. Audio plays fine, but the video is worse than choppy- a frame every 5 seconds or so!!

I'm using the rawframebuffer mode on TCPMP which seems to play back everything else I have just fine..

I can't beleive that the 400mhz cpu on this PPC can't handle decoding this video... Has anyone else gotten similar mpeg4 video to play on the Touch?

I'm having the same issues with any video format. Poor frame rate, poor voice sync, etc. Not sure what the problem is. (Something I'm doing, or something the Touch is doing..)

Try changing from Direct Draw to Raw Frame Buffer.

I haven't had any issues that so many people have complained about regarding video quality. I watch streaming TV, mpeg4 movies, tomtom navigation all with no video or audio problems. I am using the Bell CDMA Touch with the factory original 1.17.666.1 ROM. Is there a specific website or file that you guys are having trouble viewing? If so let me know about it so that I can try using it with my phone to see if I get the same results. I might not be using the right type of files to produce the problems.
