Issue with Live Search voice recognition.

When I try to use the voice function it starts like normal but then says it cant complete my request once i start talking.

Any idea what the deal is? Its annoying as the voice feature was the only thing that really made Live Search cooler than google.

I removed it and reinstalled it and it worked but now its back to doing it again.

What exactly is happening? Do you have a data connection?

Here are a few pointers for speech:

As far as entering addresses on the choose location screen, think of the search box as a "What" and the Choose Location as "Where".

If you have a device with inbuilt GPS (not aGPS), you should be able to use it. GPSID is the recommended way to do this, as it allows the GPS driver to be shared with other apps and is the default setting, but you can specify an explicit COM port in the settings if necessary (and typically this is what you'd do if using Bluetooth GPS).

It's worth noting that the speech grammars are contextual - i.e. they are based on the search and geocode data, they are not generic English grammars. This means you'll get better recognition overall, but may occasionally find something won't be recognized no matter how hard you try - the grammar just doesn't have a match!

Hope this helps.

late,
Coz

It works fine for a while but then it just wont take my voice prompts. It pops up with that prompt the moment I start speaking.

I do nothing differently. Touch "speak" and it comes up with the waivy dots but fails when I start talking.

I'm having the same problem, I even tried to say things that I would search for like resturants or banks and it always says it can't reconize what I'm saying.
