EVDO Problems is reason internet is slow..mysterious

for anyone else with slow internet problems the problem is that evdo connection does not connect. I am trying to figure out which downloaded program is detering this connection. any ideas? I can connect to internet but only via 1x. I have uninstalled pocket stocks and pocket sporscenter. Anyone else solve how to connect with evdo? what program caused this problem? thanks for your help.
