I'm not going to nitpick about chipsets, which supports what and all the rest of that crap. It's immaterial. Fact is anything that goes thru DirectDraw sucks. Fact is that video NOT played through DirectDraw plays just fine. The hardware, therefore, is entirely capable, dedicated graphics support and acceleration or not. I want to hear their excuse for why phones I threw away three years ago played video better than my supposively modern Mogul and Touch do. I'd also like to know how Sprint, the same company that seriously can't tell the difference between it's ass and hole in the ground, managed to make Sprint TV work correctly while Slingplayer and Windows Media Player do not. Are we actually expected to believe Sprint has more and better technical people than HTC and Microsoft? Again, it's so much easier to believe this is scam that it's not funny anymore. It's deserving of a lawsuit.

Don't be sidetracked by meaningless details. No one here or anywhere else is going to be pulling any miracle drivers out of their ass. Either HTC does it or it doesn't get done. Period. They have the answers right now. Whether or not they do something about it will determine if they care at all about it's users or if it's "money money uber alles" and they deserve to be put out of business.

While Sprint TV works the best. It still tears which shouldn't happen if hardware acceleration is being used. And plus MobiTV made the app not Sprint.

That's great news.. The more publicity this thing gets, the better imo. Make people aware of it, and it will force HTC to do something because of the bad publicity.

No, this carefully worded statement says "...does not USE the ATI Imageon acceleration hardware...". This is quite crafty on their part to say it like this, as the hardware acceleration is part of this Qualcomm chip, however HTC is not USING it. This is deliberate on their part, so they can get longer life out of this chipset by releasing "new" and "exciting!" multimedia phones in the future...on the same old hardware...that could have had the same capability if they hadn't intentionally crippled it.

Remember the MacBook Pro, when it was revealed that it was capable of 802.11n, but Apple had intentionally crippled it. Then it was revealed that they intended to charge for a patch that would enable 802.11n...but it was going to cost you $20.00. Public outcry grew so loud over this that they dropped the price to $5.00, then $1.99 and came up with some lame-assed excuse that they "HAD" to charge "something" to comply with an accounting rule.

Unfortunately, this is the kind of shit that companies do everyday, trying to monetize their userbase with the same old technology, rewrapped and repackaged as something better than it's predecessor. It is clear to me that this is what HTC is planning with this particular Qualcomm chipset.

(LOL)
That's funny. You spent $500 on a phone and you're now assembling a legal team for a lawsuit? Hmm I wonder which one costs more.

Haha, I felt the same way too after watching these videos.

Though I barely use PIE for anything, it's bugging me now that scrolling isn't perfectly smooth, though it doesn't seem as bad on my Touch as it does in those videos.

Mine is horrible. Absolutely horrible. What HTC doesn't realise is that they had better provide drivers or they're gonna lose a LOT of business. Me, for example. I'm switching to AT&T soon to piggy of their GSM service and getting me an I-Mate Ultimate 9502. It has features HTC phones haven't even HEARD of, except some of their larger devices. Put that in your Mogul and smoke it!
