Looks to me like this is actually getting stuff done! Very exciting we might see new drivers soon!

Update January 17, 2008: Suddenly, not 24 hours after this site was launched (and links sent to HTC) and only mere hours after our first press coverage (Tweakers.net (Dutch)) a new type of response from HTC surfaces, asking for more details (on the video playback issue only). Coincidence? We think not. The weird thing is, while some people have gotten that response by e-mail, at the same time, some others are still getting the "we don't know what you're talking about" response. See the Responses from HTC page for more details.

Update January 17, 2008 #2: A very interesting new response has just surfaced! One HTC support employee has stated that an internal e-mail has just gone around saying they are sorry about the issues (apologies seem to be getting more frequent in their replies) and a fix is forthcoming fast, so watch the HTC e-Club. Apparently he also let the February ROM update slip again. He also let slip the update will likely come with WM 6.1 - which would be awesome. He still requested more reports and videos, though. In the meantime, some other people have again let us know that they are still getting the "no patches planned" response.

Could it be we are having the desired effect? We can only hope. Now if only HTC would release an official statement, we could all 'go home'! We have not interpreted this as the final word (yet), as so far this seems to be an isolated response.

OK, I notice this on the site too

  • HTC Vogue (MSM7500), also known as:
    • HTC Touch P3050 (this is not the normal HTC Touch)
Which do we have?

That, the HTC Vogue, is also the HTC P3050. HTC has a problem with their naming... The "Normal" HTC Touch is the HTC Elf (GSM).

This is definitely something we should all contact HTC and complain about. I'm at the point where I don't even want to buy another HTC device because the video playback is so poor (plus the screen quality on the Touch is just terrible anyway). Send your complaints!!!

Well, I went to the HTC site and posted my complaint, for what it's worth! I had no clue as to what was going but now that I do, I believe we should all say something!

What a waste. Those idiots over at HTC gave me instructions on how to reset my phone and told me to contact Sprint.

They also told me "Unfortunately, due to the confidentiality agreements that we have with Sprint, we may not be able to reveal this issue." Huh?

Yeah, that's why I said we all need to start jumping on SPRINT about it. HTC won't do anything because Sprint was too cheap to get a service contract from them.

Id say contact both, As cheap as sprint may be, They will have a hard time not listening to the company that makes 90% of its PPC's when they are bombarded with complaints about poor designs. (note, HTC is becoming a manufacturer for palm as well, so possibly over 90%)

Yeah but HTC won't give us the time of day. I've emailed them and I've called them - same response "we don't support this device, you must contact Sprint"

Well, I took a look at the petition & have come to the conclusion that its mainly for TyTn2 owners. Nowhere on the petition itself does it state anything regarding the Vogue. What would be ironic though is if the Verizon Vogue that should be released in March actually INCLUDES the missing drivers.
