Wi-Fi on the Sprint Touch

I'm fully aware the according to the specs of the Sprint touch that it doesn't have Wi-Fi on it. That being said I was browsing through the registry of my Touch and I happened upon a Wi-Fi entry in the registry. Is the hardware present and it just not turned on or is this in the registry for another reason??

I dont think so, Ive never heard someone identify wi-fi hardware within the Touch, but you never know, Sprint has been dangling GPS in front of us mogul users.

I have heard that the wifi antennae is not installed.

The software is most likely just part of the standers WM6 registry. If someone ever dose makes a Micro SD WIFI card then maybe software needed to make it work is already in the registry.

Someone already made a Micro SD WIFI card although I think you can only get it from one place. Forgot the exact name of they company that makes it but they were saying since its so small it was having trouble picking up good signals.

Yeah... that Spectec MicroSD WiFi info has been on their site for over 4 months without a way to purchase it. Possibly vaporware IMHO. I would buy one right now if it were available.

gotcha! its a pre-order everywhere.. i was thinking if we installed this into the touch, would the card being behind the slot affect its performance?

First off, It would probably stick out a bit from the side.
Performance would be as designed. They make these things to fit in a phone and poke out a bit.
On a side issue... checkout this site I found that speaks of people emailing Spectec for a release date.
This thing may still be a good way off.
It's a shame.
