The Ubiquitous UNLOCK Screen

Team...

When my Touch was configured for direct push email through the Outlook Exchange server at work, I was told that the WM6 "Lock" would need to be enabled for security reasons. SO, every 10min or so, my Touch locks and I am required to enter an UNLOCK code to use any feature (other than receiving calls).

ANyone know how to disable/work-around this problem?

Thanks.

This bugged me for a while too because 1and1's exchange hosting server has the same security policy. I was able to change the time, but the option to turn the password off is locked out. I finally found out that you can change the registry key to disable policies:

HKLM\Security\Policies\00001023

0 = Enabled; 1 = Disabled

The Zenyee StayUnlock runs in the background and monitors that key, setting it back to 1 if it changes. I would try a manual reg key change first - my Touch hasn't prompted me to set up the password settings again since I disabled it. If you do the reg hack and it gets reset by the server, then you can install the Zenyee software to keep it monitored. The less I have running on mine, the better, personally.

I tried the reg hack and it kept on reverting back for me. stay unlock only takes 3.90KB in the background - well worth avoiding the bother of hacking the registry - but hey do what works for ya.

Weird, the stay unlock doesn't seem to work for me.

Every day around 2:30pm, my company pushes the security policy back out, and I get a pop-up. It asks me to set my PIN, etc.

If you already use 1and1, just look for the detailed instructions on their site. I used to use them a few years ago and remember that it worked well and their instructions for setup were right on.

Check here first....

I have used them since 2005 for most of my websites. I have Exchange account set up with them, but not a MailXChange account, I will have to do that.
