When texting or emailing etc, the phone starts in XT9 mode

With the Touch Keyboard (I like it.) I can't figure out how to turn it off though so I always have to toggle it off manually when it comes up. Anyone know how to turn off XT9?

yeah, I hated that.....I switched to TouchPal, much better.

I would be interested in this too. Still trying to figure out what the best keyboard solution is. All I know is that xt9 isnt it.

xt9 sux. must be a hack somewhere we can get abc mode to be default.

I hated XT9 at first also, but after a bit of time, i found myself really enjoying it for most things (other than usernames/passwords/url's) but general messaging (OZ or SMS) it seems to be very good.

See, I want the reverse -- I want XT9 to be the default. I wish they'd just let you choose from three choices -- "XT9 is default", "abc is default," or "use our silly logic to guess what you want." Or just the first two would be fine. I'm not sure anyone is happy with their logic.
