Contacts / Favorite People Issue

I used the HTC Home Customizer to put the Contacts/Favorite People tab on the home screen.

I set it up with people, but now I want to change one of them. I can click on the button to delete the person, then I click on the plus sign to add someone, and that works fine.

When I do a soft reset, it goes back to the old person.

Any ideas on how to make this change permanent?
