Strange files showing up on Memory Card???

So, over the Holidays I thought I would take some time to install and try out a few apps for our Touch. I tried out SBP pocket plus as well as phone alarm and the s2u application. Well, I got rid of SBP just cuase I like to keep my home page fairly clean looking and this was putting too much on it for my taste. I have kept phone alarm and s2u up to now. They both seem to be working pretty well and have not caused any crashes or hang-ups.

Here is the thing though, I looked with file exp. at my memory card, and I am now seeing 13 files on there that look like this...
00000000 (except the 0 is really a box).

Each file has the date of 8/1/80 and is 16 MB and one has the date of 2.22.80 and is 1.15GB.

I have no idea what this is. It is only on my memory card. I don't think it was there before i tried these new apps. Whenever I try to delete it, it says it is a system file and that an application may not work if I delete it, etc..

Any thoughts. Sorry this is so long a post, just trying to be detailed.

I believe your SD Card is corrupt. Do some searches. You'll have to reformat it and reload. It's happening to a lot of folks with the Touch. It doesn't matter what brand or size card you have.

The more you write to it (for any reason) the more likely you'll corrupt it.

I would not blame any software you installed.

By the way SBP plus is completely customizable. You can make it's usage of home screen extremely small/simple (including nothing) or large/complex with multiple tabs. You can use large or small icons. Tabs or no tabs. etc.

However there is a bug with it that the phone app keeps popping up randomly.

When mine goes funky I just reset the Touch and all is well. I have not had to reformat my card. Maybe others have, but crossing my fingers, I have been able to clear it up with a soft reset.

Yeah, I have tried soft reset, but it has not cleared these files off the memory card for me. I guess that I will try to reformate the card and see what occurs.

And about the SBP bug. That is the main reason why I decided against it for now. I could not stand the phone app coming up all the time when I would go from screen to screen. Maybe I will try it again once they get this fixed.

Thanks for the input guys. =D>
