Will it Help My Inadvertent Selecting of Text?
My biggest beef is I try to scroll (particulary in PIE) and I end up highlighting text or selecting hyperlinks. Is there any way to de-select the highlighting function? Or reduce the sensitivity of selecting instead of scrolling?

Now, to your question 5harkology: I tested the new setting w/ my fingernail and my fat thumb. - My fat thumb - scrolling is a breeze, but I cannot highlight anything. - My fingernail - I'm only able to highlight w/ it, I cannot do scrolling at all, this included my stylus. Hope this is helpful.

i cant highlight ANYTHING with it set like this.... its sorta cool cause you can screen drag in all apps, lol... but not being able to select anything sucks...

its already been proven that changing the digits in the registry doesn't fully work. People are just better off doing the screen alignment test and pressing the target real softly.
I once put mine to 50,000 and it was very sensitive.. then I did it at 2,000 and it was sensitive. Hard reset my phone and put it to 2,000 and it wouldn't even read any touches... basically bricking the phone til another hard reset. The Touch seems to adjust to your pressure the more you use it. so please people, don't waste your time with this registry edit. You'll never get your phone close to the sensitivity of the iPhone.

With the stock setting it is nearly impossible to use finger scrolling effectively, it won't even move except the lightspeed auto scroll and with this simple edit it becomes 100% useable, letting you put your finger on the screen and slide it up and down and actually scroll. The only downside for me is selecting contacts accidently while turning the cube. I predict this setting will even be changed in a future Rom to make scrolling actually useable, the way it comes is ridiculous. Last edited by Primenall; 01-05-2008 at 04:51 AM. |

I highly doubt the Touch would actually monitor and adjust to the way you press the screen. It's much more likely that *you* are unconsciously adjusting your pressure to the screen's sensitivity.

This is also how Every WM Device in recent years set the screen up... (Basically this thread happened before on the mogul forum, And it was confirmed that the Alignment app is the Best way to do this)
