Please help - tethering - Windows 7 x64 rndis appears then disappears

Thanks - it is part of Win 7. I've done 3 fresh installs of Windows 7 - different versions - same issue. It doesn't seem to be a driver issue as it uses the same drivers as my working version on other computers. It seems to be something specific to this particular revision of the sony laptop. The USB work fine for any other function.

I am able to use BT tethering on that laptop, just not usb for some odd reason. I tried the USB chipset drivers direct from Sony - no luck and also tried them direct from Intel - no luck.
