Lost tiny catch where the digitizer connection is

Hi guys,

I was replacing my digitizer because it was broken.

During the process, I lost the tiny black plastic connector that is keeping the wire in place.

The one I'm talking about is the one at the end of the wire going down from the digitizer. It's a tiny piece of plastic no bigger than 2mm.

Do you know where I could get something like that?

Thanks!

Maybe buy a broken or used Vogue and scavenge it from one.

Yeah, but I don't think I can find one for less than $20... Which is a bit ridiculous for such a tiny plastic connector...

Well, considering that you are looking for parts for a device that is over 3 years old you may not have a choice.

Yeah, and it's not just some little piece of plastic. It's part of a very precise hold down mechanism. If it's only slightly off, then your taps and screen gestures will not be detected accurately. It's designed to flip up and clamp down, should not be loose or free to get lost, but held in place at its axis. Best fix is to replace the keypad circuit board (unless you're lucky and find it, and even luckier, you find it's not broken where it rotates, plus you're able to nest it back in place so it flips open and closed nicely).

Re: Lost tiny catch where the digitizer connection is

Ran into another choice quite by accident:

Pic is from an eBay seller who has the keypad circuitboard available in 'refurbished' condition. Who would've known it might be called a front membrane?! It's $13.99 with free shipping from Hong Kong.
