Screen turns off when making calls?

I would assume the screen tuns off when you make a call so your cheeck does not hit buttons but is there a way to delay it a little longer?

I'm not 100% positive, but I am pretty sure it turns off after so much time. It's not related to the buttons, just the power save. So I'd imagine if you change those settings it'll stay on longer, but then again your battery life will probably decrease a lot because of all the times it happens not because of a call (like random turn ons etc)
