Introducing the iCube
~~NOTE! Version 1.0 is currently only tested and confirmed on the HTC/Sprint Touch.~~ I'm very happy to present the custom cube skin dreamt up and created by Musicman247 and myself…the iCube. Inspired by the user interface of the iPhone while understanding the small size of the Touch, the iCube interface blends both together to form a unique “cube” skin that is both aesthetically and functionally pleasing. Through modifications to the TouchFlo Cube made by Musicman247 the iCube utilizes a 4 line by 3 column format of icons and “4th Wall” for its launchers. This format provides slightly larger, more finger friendly icons than standard iPhone interfaces while at the same time providing a greater number of shortcuts than a standard 6-sided cube or Music’s original 8-icon cube mod. The use of a “chalkboard” icon set furthers the effort to give the iCube its own personality while the “flush” animation used for exiting/opening and shifting the cube gives homage to the iCube’s inspiration. This is an example of the iCube’s “flush” animations and the full cube in action. The second application launcher, the Custom Launcher, will be able to be edited using registry edits, as will the Media Launcher page. It will also feature the skinned Media and Contacts pages. We will continue work on the iCube in coming weeks to make it more feature rich and user friendly. We currently have a wide range of ideas so definitely stay tuned for updates. Finally, major thanks to Musicman247 who is truly the mind behind the iCube’s programming and creation. If not for his talents this would’ve never been more than a wild idea kicking through my mind. Huge props goes out to him. We hope you all enjoy, feel free to ask any questions you have. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - .Cab Files UPDATE 12/08: .Cab of Version 1.0 posted UPDATE 12/10: .Cab of Version 1.01 posted UPDATE 12/11: Latest .Cab, Version 1.10, is now up. Windows Mobile 6 Theme - iCube Carbon (working version coming soon)
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n...arbonTheme.jpg http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n...ThemeStart.jpg Blank iCube Icon Set v1 I'm going to be trying to get someone with photoshop to touch these up and get them looking a bit sharper. However, been getting a lot of requests for them so I figured I'd put this up. You can use these icons as a background, and place other icons on top if you'd like to keep to the "theme" of the iCube. http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n...ackgrounds.jpg |

by Musicman247 and Zyphlin Please un-install any other Cube modifications you may have. Edit 05-21-2008: iCube.zip is for all newer 3.## ROMs Edit 12-16-2007: iCube on GSM Touch is now a reality! Simply follow these instructions: Please manually install the "Files4GSM" into your Windows Directory. I find that Total Commander works well. Then install the iCube.cab found here in this post. WARNING! THIS (IF DONE CORRECTLY) WILL REPLACE APLauncher.exe, Biotouch.exe, and MediaHubMini with updated versions and add CustAPLauncher.exe Enjoy! This must be installed to the device, so make sure you have around 9MB free. These are also the install instructions for the TyTN II. Edit 12-12-2007: Please re-install. A number of errors have arisen. I have re-posted the CAB with the fixes. Edit 12-11-2007:Version 1.10 is now up. This includes the previous bug fixes, plus adds the ability to change your icons on the 4th side through registry edits. This also allows the icon "blink animation" on the fourth side. BIG thanks to Kona_Mtbkr for making this possible! No un-install needed before installing this version Edit 12-10-2007: Version 1.01 is up. All of these icons are already installed in the \My Documents\iCube\Icons directory, but I figured you'd like your own shot at them. Looks good. I'd replace my cube with this one. It would be so handy not having to go into the programs menu for anything and just be able to use the cube.

well theres the ease of switching icons, plus i may use this in a non apple way. i just really like the animation and the solid black background. so if you could also create a blank universal animation between the sides, like how polen releases one for the vista cube, then i would be super happy! |

Cool, Which Devices is this for
|
I would like to change the streaming media, were is the reg path for this please.....very cool ICube
|
I'm trying to re-order this cube but i'm having trouble changing the icons under CustAPLauncher. I change the Icon Path, but icons keep reverting back to the default ones even though the reg entries are pointing to a different icon. I'm able to change the path for the CustAPLauncher however.
I can change the icons under APLauncher just fine. |
Does anyone have any ideas for me with making msn money mobile work ? I couldnt get it to work on my mogul either. Keeps saying it has a bad certificate. Or unsigned certificate.
|
The fourth side is non-customizable graphically. The Cube does not allow it. You can change the links, but not the icons.
|
I will try to search some of the other Cube threads for information on registry editing and maybe get a bit more tips in a post. For now, those that know how to edit cube registry Music provided the points to look at.
For those (a bit like me) with little knowledge of registry editing, hopefully we'll see some kind of config application some point in the future. And just to clarify, this is only currently tested to be working on an HTC Touch. If any FTouchFlo people on another device want to give it a try and let us know how it goes, that'd be great. But can't verify at the moment that the cube will function on any other device. For more exact info on how a "4th Wall" works, check out Music's 4-sided cube thread here |
Actually this has only been tested on the HTC Vogue, which is the Sprint Touch. Confusing, I know.

Another tell-tale sign would be a \My Documents\iCube folder being present. |
