well this program didnt make it one day on my phone and it crashed had to do a hard reset on it. this was the only program on the phone. my HCC was on my memory card. and that has been on there for several days now.

Works like a charm. I like it. Sometimes makes my phone go slow.

Just to clarify, this is not a program. This is a skin for the cube. This MUST be installed on the device. This will not affect performance in any way because it does not take up any more resources than the cube.

Using Sprint Touch.

I have my 3-sided cube modified to use the HTC icons - and I have remapped all the keys to launch programs which I like.

This set of skins and the 4th side is interesting to me.

1) Does it slow down the device in anyway (e.g. are larger amounts of resources used to deliver smooth animation)?
2) Is there anyway to use this with just a 3-sided version? Believe it or not, I am a little leary of a 4th side just because of finding the right page I want by swiping 3-4 times... In other words, could I delete the 4th side from my registry and just use the 3 sides?

has anyone noticed that when you do the evdo hack you don't recieve any sms messages, or is it ust me

Good questions.
 

1)As far as I can tell from days of testing it does not slow down the device at all. The smooth animation is just an effect. It still uses the regular 5 frames of animation, just done well. A full install will take up around 9MB of your "Hard Drive", but it does not reduce performance, only storage space.

2) Yes, it could be converted to a 3 sided iCube by changing the registry entry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>Software>HTC>Biotouch>Biotouch> TotalCubes to 3 instead of 4.

Im not too good at this... can someone tell me how to figure out the path for MSN Messenger? And any chance there is going to be an ICON for MSN messenger soon? I got the icon to change... but it doesnt match the iCube icons... :-( Plus when I set the path I set it to: \Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Messenger and some other stuff... but no luck.. I find most everything hidden, but for some reason cannot find MSN. grrrr

EDIT: Found it. \Windows\WLMMessenger.exe it worked!!!

I actually use the cube interface now. My only gripe (and maybe I'm doing something wrong) is when I make registry modifications to change shortcuts and icons, it always displays the original icons during animation sequences. This only happens when the cube is spinning. Is there a way I can fix this?

How do i set weather panel to open when i press the weather button? Also the lock i changed the string to \Program Files\s2us\s2u2.exe and i get an error "cannot be opened". Also i change my file explorer to string to \Program Files\Resco Explorer\Explorer.exe and nothing happens. And the SMS button takes me to the messaging page just like the mail button. Also how do i change the browser to opera? I'm totally new to this but i thought i was changing the right things but obviosuly not.Any help would be great thanks.

Edit i got the lock to work with those settings had to do a soft reset.But the others are still a nogo.

Decided to go back to my unbranded Sprint icons (and use the HTC ones) on a 3-sided for now, because I am familliar with it and don't have time tonight to get it just the way I want with re-mapping and changing some of the icons. But, I will be back when I have more time.

The uninstall went perfectly smooth. I had a backup ready to go - but not needed.

Just as a precaution, I had killed mediahub, quickdial, HTClauncher, etc. - but, I had no problems loading or unloading.

This is very exciting to see these guys' talent and the skills of the community. Again, I will probably be back to it in a bit when I have more time to tweak it to my personal liking. I agree with an earlier poster - that it might be nice to have a solid black background except on the dialer menu. Even so, I appreciate your skill and your time.

how do i get the icons? where do i put em..do i jus put them in the windows folder? will they be automatically used by icube? i dont know tell me..exactly i am supposing its great..but tell me where do i put those icons..caz they came seperate..

The icons are already installed. " Icons are found in: \My Documents\iCube\Icons"

Actually, all the icons in icon pack #1 are included with the iCube CAB. I decided to release them as their own zip because some people like to go in and edit things to their own liking. But they are not needed for the iCube to work.

Unfortunately the iCube rotation is a fixed set of images. Within the next day or two I hope to release a generic animation which hopefully will satisfy.

Also, would there be any interest in an iCube Classic Icon Pack?

This has only been tested on the Sprint Touch (hence the reason it is in the Touch Forum). This is a skin for the HTC Touch Cube found on the Sprint Touch (aka HTC Vogue) So no, it probably won't work. Sorry 'bout that. :neutral:

ok thnx...had a feeeling..and i didnt realise...caz all i did was type in icube and search..i didnt go to any special forum..well everything else i got here worked anyways..there..sort of the same phone..only thing touch has dat flo..and i have flo on mines too..got it from another source..but thnx anyways

This is great skin. You guys did a great job. Anyone that knows anything about registry changes should figure this out in no time. Any chance for more icons, maybe a bluetooth icon? I know it probably takes time to make these so I will be patient wait for them. Again great job!!!

A generic animation woud be great. What would the classic pack include?
I appreciate all the time put into this and I'm just gonna throw some personal "wants" I'd like to have out there:
-Include more Media Hub icons (I'm terrible with PS and photo editing in general)
-Include more CF backgrounds for the other icons
-An all carbon fiber background (can never have enough carbon fiber :) )
-Include a registry config tool to modify icons and shortcuts (I'm new to registry edits and I'm having a hard time creating paths to "functions" like simply locking the phone)

Just FYI, "hubmovies" was not in the .brn folder but was in the .bmp folder and doesn't have a highlighted version (just had to convert to .brn).

Yeah, sorry about hubmovies. It was supposed to be released with the Classic pack. Classic would have icons very similar to another phone that has a touch screen and i in front of the name.

How can you get it to go back to the iCube after closing an application?

Instead of closing the application just swipe up on the screen.

I may have missed an answer to this but I don't see it covered...the File Explore button does not work for me. When I click on it nothing happens. I just lights up but does not open file explorer. Anyone else have this probem?

make sure that you have fexplore.exe in your Windows dir. The button makes a call to that program.

I show two files in windows directory. They are both just called fexplore with no extension. I am not sure how to view file extensions. I could send one to a mail recipient which allowed me to see the extension as .lnk. I don't have that option on the other. I assume it is the .exe file though. I can open the file explorer from the program menu. Just not from the cube.

if need be we can change it. As of right now we're not using any Apple screen shots nor Apple created icons (which was one of the biggest issues with the previous iphone like products). On top of that, there are already other products...for sale products...out under the icube name. Thirdly, a quick search of the U.S. trademark database doesn't bring up any information on Apple owning a trademark of "iCube", though will be happy to see a link saying otherwise. I see some links to them calling their cube computer the "iCube", though once again...this is their computer division, not the handheld, and unlike the iPhone skins its not something mimmicing their thing of the same name. So with us not charging money, not using any part of the iPhone name besides "i", not using the exact same format, nor using any of their icons, I'm not too worried. If it really comes down to it we can change but I just don't have a feeling the shoe is going to drop. AND, if its going to drop, I'd imagine it'd drop on one of the guys up above in the theme posts, that are using some of the iPhone icons, using it as an "iphone theme", and use the iphone's exact layout.

I concur with Zyphlin. We are not charging anything and we are using publicly available icons.

@mcsix93: do you have a registry editor on your Touch? If so I could walk you through changing the path to the .lnk and see if that would work.

Have you tried an uninstall of MS Money, soft reset, then re-install with the latest version? I noticed that on the MS website it says to make sure you have uninstalled any previous versions before installing the new version. Also, make sure you are following the directions on the website. I installed via ActiveSync and have had no problems with it on my mobile. Now, I don't have the PC version, so that may be something as well.
